A Message from John

I am profoundly grateful for the many opportunities I have had to do important work alongside the many exceptional clients I have known since starting this work in 1979. Thank you for trusting me with your security needs.

Similarly, I am grateful for the many colleagues with whom I have worked over the years, especially my son, C. Joshua Villines, CTM, CPP, the Executive Director of the Human Intelligence Group.  Joshua and I have collaborated on every expert witness case I’ve had over the past two decades, and I think his approach to evidence-based practice has made my own work better. Thanks to Joshua, in more recent years I have been fortunate to find one other trusted entity for whom I have a similar level of professional respect: Group 9 Risk Consulting.

Though I am no longer offering expert testimony, I remain involved with mentoring and consulting, and I have joined the Advisory Board of Group 9, where I currently serve as Chair. Recognizing that Joshua’s global professional leadership obligations, and his ongoing contributions to the field of behavioral threat assessment, limit him to only taking on a few expert cases at a time right now, both Joshua and I are happy to offer an unqualified recommendation of Group 9 for the full range of services related to expert testimony.

This website will remain as a historical archive of the work I performed over a career that has now spanned over fifty years. Please note, however, that I am now fully retired as an expert witness, and will only be performing limited consulting services.
